Glenrae Hut

Glenrae Hut is a basic DOC backcountry hut in Lake Sumner Forest Park (Canterbury region). The hut has four bunks and is run by the Department of Conservation; use is free and bookings aren’t required—plan on first-come, first-served sleeping.

There’s no DOC track access to the hut, so you need to navigate your own route. Inside, a mattress is provided and toilets are available as a pit latrine. The hut does not have a fireplace, and dogs are not allowed.
