Harper Pass Bivvy

Harper Pass Bivvy is a basic two-bunk backcountry hut in Lake Sumner Forest Park, run by the Department of Conservation. Use is first come, first served (no bookings required), and use is free; Te Araroa Trail walkers should register and buy the Te Araroa Trail Pass.

The hut has two bunk beds and allows pit latrine toilets, but there’s no drinking water provided and no fireplace. Dogs are not allowed.
