Mid Silverstream Hut
Mid Silverstream Hut is a Department of Conservation backcountry hut in the Leatham Conservation Area (South Marlborough). It’s a standard 5-bunk hut used for overnight stays in the South Marlborough area; bookings aren’t required and stays are first come, first served for the beds.
The hut has a fireplace and mattresses, plus toilets with pit latrine disposal. Bring a Standard Hut Ticket for each night: Adult (18+) $10 per night and Youth (5–17) $5 per night (Child/Infant 0–4 is free). An alternative is a Backcountry Hut Pass that allows unlimited use at most Standard and Serviced huts for 12 months; fees are set to change from 1 July 2026. Severe weather has damaged many roads in the Marlborough Sounds, so check the latest road updates before you travel.
