Mid Trent Hut

Mid Trent Hut is a basic four-bunk backcountry hut in the Ahaura River and Lake Brunner catchments area of New Zealand’s West Coast, operated by the Department of Conservation. It’s a first-come, first-served hut (no bookings required) and use is free.

The hut has a fireplace and sleeping gear (mattresses), plus toilets with a pit latrine system. It does not provide drinking water—plan to bring what you need.
