Moonlight Tops Hut
Moonlight Tops Hut is a Department of Conservation Great Walk hut on the Paparoa Track in Paparoa National Park (West Coast region). Use is centered on the 20 bunk beds and it’s intended for backcountry overnight trips with hut ranger support in summer.
Bookings are required, and the hut has gas cooking facilities, sinks with cold running water inside the hut, and mattresses on the bunks. Long drop toilets and cold running water are provided; the toilets use a pit latrine system and toilet paper is supplied. You’ll need to bring your own cooking equipment and sleeping bag, and showers aren’t available.
Fees are charged per person, per night and vary by season (with separate rates for NZ, international, and children). Backcountry Hut Passes and Backcountry Hut Tickets aren’t valid for this hut; Great Walk bookings must be made through the Paparoa Track hut booking system.
