Omaka Bivouac

Omaka Bivvy is a basic 2-bunk hut in the Ferny Gair Conservation Area (South Marlborough) managed by the Department of Conservation. It’s set up for backcountry overnight use with sleeping for two, and use is free with no bookings required—first come, first served.

The hut has a pit latrine and provides no drinking water. It’s a bivvy-style stop intended for light self-supported stays, so bring your own water and plan around basic facilities.
