Pakihi Hut

Pakihi Hut is a backcountry hut run by the Department of Conservation in the Ōpōtiki area of the East Coast, within the Urutawa Conservation Area. The hut is on the Pakihi Track (part of the Motu Trails), set midway down the track and just above Pakihi Stream; it’s a compact hut with six bunks and a large covered veranda, plus space outside for tents. It dates to the late-1960s and is used by hunters, hikers, and cyclists for both overnight stays and lunch stops.
