Refugio Azara
Refugio Azara is a backcountry hut in Parque Nacional Perito Moreno, used as an overnight stop on the Circuito Azara. It sleeps up to 6 people and has three attached camping plots (each plot is for 1–4 people). The hut is equipped with a wood-burning stove and is set in sub-Andean forest; it’s also one of the more remote shelters on the network, about 23 km from the trailhead/parking for the circuit.
Use inside is organized around short stays and low-impact use. Fire is prohibited in the park, so cooking is gas only; ash-handling rules apply when using heating stoves, and trash must be carried out. Set up and clean up carefully: use the latrines, keep the common hut areas tidy, and be prepared to leave the site ready for the next party (including having water and firewood staged). Reservations for hut or camping plots are handled by email, and once booked you must complete the required mountain-activity registration.
