Refugio Gilberto

Refugio Gilberto is a backcountry hut in Parque Nacional Perito Moreno managed by the park agency. It has capacity for 4–6 people and is about 1 km from the parking area and the start of the Senda del Valle del Rio Lácteo.

Use requires a reservation, which is made by email to peritomoreno@apn.gob.ar; after reserving, you must complete the mandatory mountain-activity registration. There are no annex sites for pitching tents, so plan to sleep in the hut. The refuge is free to reserve.

There are no additional nearby campsite areas attached to the refuge, so arrive with a clear plan for where you’ll sleep and how you’ll stage your overnight gear for this specific hut stop.
