Seldom Inn Hut

Seldom Inn Hut is a privately managed backcountry hut on Mt Whitnow Station in the Canterbury region of New Zealand. It’s set up for small-group use (with four bunks), but bed space and any specific arrangements need to be confirmed with the station management before you go.

Access is restricted: there is no public access without prior authorization. Plan on a very basic, off-grid setup—an outhouse/toilet and water sourced from rain catchment or a nearby stream, with no power, no running water, and no Wi‑Fi. Because it sits on private working farm land, visitors need prior permission and should pack out all trash and respect livestock.
