Steyning Hut

Steyning Hut is a basic six-bunk backcountry hut run by the Department of Conservation in Lake Sumner Forest Park (Canterbury). Use is free and it operates on a first-come, first-served basis (no bookings required).

Access is via Glenhope Station pastoral lease land, and you need permission from Glenhope Station to get across it. Because dogs are not allowed, plan to leave them at home. Inside, there are no mattresses? (mattresses are present), toilets are pit latrines, and there is no fireplace.
