Waikiti Hut
Waikiti Hut is a Department of Conservation backcountry hut in the West Coast region, set within the Ahaura River and Lake Brunner catchments area near the Greymouth side. It’s a basic six-bunk hut built for straightforward overnight use in the Paparoa National Park area.
Use is free and no bookings are required; it operates on a first-come, first-served basis. The hut has mattresses, a fireplace, and toilets (pit latrine). Typical one-way travel time to the hut is about 5–7 hours, with the route classed as expert.
